§ Mr. Michael Coulsonasked the Minister of Transport what action he intends to take to counter discrimination by Uruguay against British vessel.
§ Mr. MarplesI understand that the Uruguayan discriminatory decree of 13th June is a temporary measure, while proposals for the development of the Uruguayan Merchant Marine are under consideration. I view this decree with considerable disquiet and representations have been made to the Uruguay Government about it. We are watching the situation and we are keeping in touch with other European Governments.
