HC Deb 25 July 1963 vol 681 c223W
80. Mr. Swingler

asked the Minister of Education what medical advice he has received on the comparative hygienic merits of supplying school milk in bottles or cartons; and if he will give guidance to local education authorities on the subject.

Mr. Chataway

None. The responsibility for ensuring that supplies of milk to schools are of a satisfactory standard, whatever the type of container used, rests with the local Medical Officers of Health. I have not been asked for guidance in this matter and I do not think that any is called for.
