HC Deb 25 July 1963 vol 681 c223W
Mr. A. Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that a number of persons have now confessed that they assisted the late Peter Rachman in carrying on illegal activities, such as encouraging race hatred, threats against the person, and assault; and what action the Metropolitan Police have taken, or intend to take, to arrest and charge these persons.

Mr. Brooke

I am informed by the Commissioner of Police that he is not aware of any such cases in which appropriate action has not already been taken.

Anybody who has evidence of intimidation or other criminal activity should, as made clear by my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary in Monday's debate, report the matter immediately to the Commissioner, who will have the most searching inquiries made.
