81. Mr. Callaghan

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what action he proposes to take on the recommendation contained in paragraph 502 of the recent Report on Noise that power saws should not be installed within a distance of 200 feet of residential premises.

This recommendation relates only to portable power saws, and its acceptance would involve legislation. I am considering it along with the others in the Report which concern my responsibilities.
