56. Mr. Dudley Smith

asked the Minister of Transport when he expects to reopen the underpass at Hyde Park Corner at night; and what his estimate is of the cost of the repair work and technical investigations being carried out there.

Mr. Marples

The London County Council reopened single lanes in the Underpass on 22nd July and expect double lanes to be in use by about mid-August.

Costs and liabilities have not yet been determined.
