asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the Hunter Committee is now in a position to forecast the date of its report; and whether it will now make an interim report on the question of drift-netting for salmon.

I have received from the Committee an interim report on drift-net fishing for salmon; it is being printed and I hope to be able to present it to Parliament and publish it before the Recess. I understand that the Committee cannot yet forecast the date of its final report.
