HC Deb 24 July 1963 vol 681 c204W
Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement about the results of the suggestions made by his Department to firework manufacturers; and what further action he proposes to take in the matter of danger from fireworks.

Mr. Woodhouse

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on 4th April to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Belfast, West (Mrs. McLaughlin). I have no further developments to report regarding the consideration of the suggestions made to the manufacturers. I am glad, however, to be able to confirm that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health will arrange for statistical information to be compiled again by the hospital authorities about the accidents from fireworks requiring hospital treatment on and around next Guy Fawkes Day.
