HC Deb 24 July 1963 vol 681 c170W
76. Mr. Loveys

asked the Minister of Transport what action it is proposed to take to improve the position of the four-lane junction of Chichester by-pass with Stockbridge Road, which has been the scene of over 100 accidents in the last three years.

Mr. Marples

Measures are in hand to widen the junction and the footpath at its south-east corner; and to improve visibility at the north-east corner. I shall watch the position carefully and will consider whether a roundabout is necessary.

The long-term solution is a flyover, but this would be very expensive and I cannot say when funds will be available.
