Mrs. Butlerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he will introduce legislation to assist householders displaced by schemes of private redevelopment.
§ Sir K. JosephI presume that the hon. Member has in mind insistence on provision of alternative accommodation. This could only hinder redevelopment. The Government believe that it is better to help people by more positive proposals such as those described in the recent White Paper on Housing.
