HC Deb 22 July 1963 vol 681 c126W
53. Mr. Jeger

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the Acedes three-wheeled cars for disabled men are not fitted with a spare wheel; and, in view of the inconvenience and delay in the event of a puncture, whether he will have all such cars so equipped.

Mr. Braine

Yes; I do not think this would be of sufficient benefit.

54. Mr. Jeger

asked the Minister of Health how long a disabled man's car is expected to last before renewal; and whether he will ensure that the earlier models are rapidly replaced by the more up-to-date type of car.

Mr. Braine

Motor tricycles are expected to last about seven years and motor cars about eight years; some last much longer and some are replaced earlier. Tricycles which have reached the end of their useful life are replaced by newer models.
