HC Deb 18 July 1963 vol 681 c91W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will state the names and nature of the various organisations that organised and took part in demonstrations against the King and Queen of the Hellenes.

Mr. Brooke

Demonstrations were publicly organised by the Committee of 100 and the Save Greece Now Committee. A number of other bodies were linked with them informally and with varying degrees of closeness. My information is that the principal of these were the League for Democracy in Greece, the Democratic Union of Greeks, and the Cypriot Branch of the Communist Party. In addition, members of the Communist Party of Great Britain and of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament are known to have taken part in the demonstrations.
