HC Deb 17 July 1963 vol 681 cc59-60W
61. Mr. Swingler

asked the Minister of Labour what is his latest figure for unemployment among the disabled in Newcastle-under-Lyme; what proportion of the disabled this represents; and if he will discuss with Remploy the provision of more workshops for the disabled in the district.

Mr. Hare

191 disabled people, representing 12.2 per cent. of the total, were unemployed in June including 41 severely disabled: Remploy hope to employ a few more severely disabled people in their local factory during the coming months.
