HC Deb 16 July 1963 vol 681 cc46-7W
Mr. Woollam

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether Her Majesty's Government are satisfied with the working of the present United Nations ad hoc arrangements for peace-keeping operations; and to what extent it is Her Majesty's Government's policy to seek to put them on a permanent basis.

Mr. Heath

There is no reason to think that thead hoc arrangements for financing existing peace-keeping operations until the end of 1963 adopted by the General Assembly on 27th June will not work satisfactorily.

It is too early to decide what would be the appropriate means of financing peace-keeping operations in the future This is a matter which will come up for discussion at the next regular session of the General Assembly.
