§ Mr. John Pageasked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty to what extent his department is making use of the new network techniques, for example, critical path planning and scheduling and programme evaluation and review technique, in evaluating bids for Government contracts and monitoring subsequent performance.
§ Mr. HayNetwork progressing and evaluation techniques are being used both in shipyards and at the Admiralty for monitoring the Polaris submarine building programme. Consideration is also being given to their adoption in certain other suitable cases where a worthwhile improvement over monitoring systems currently in use can be established.
