68. Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary for Technical Co-operation if he will take steps to have founded and erected in London a Commonwealth university to assist in the furtherance of the education of peoples from emergent Commonwealth nations.

Mr. Carr

No. I think it is better for existing British universities to continue to accept Commonwealth students who can mingle with our own students and for us to continue to co-operate with Commonwealth countries in building up their own universities. This country is doing a great deal in both respects and will go on doing so.
