asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science if he will make a further statement on the results achieved by the Joint Board who recently visited the United States of America to interview British scientists working there, with a view to securing their services for official posts in this country.

236 candidates were interviewed in North America this year, of whom 171 were in the United States. So far 68 candidates, of whom 51 are working in the United States have been offered appointments in the United Kingdom. Other offers of employment are under consideration.
