HC Deb 15 July 1963 vol 681 c13W
Mr. Mahon

asked the Minister of Health what study he has made of the article in The Medical Officer, by Dr. Andrew Semple, H.P.Q., the Medical Officer of Health, Liverpool, about Britain's protection against smallpox, a copy of which has been sent to him; and whether he is satisfied that the present precautions against the spread of this disease are adequate.

Mr. Powell

It has been studied by my advisers. Safeguards can never be absolute but I am about to strengthen present precautions by new Regulations, as announced in my reply of 10th July to my hon. Friend the Member for Rutland and Stamford (Mr. K. Lewis).
