HC Deb 15 July 1963 vol 681 c19W
Mr. John Page

asked the Secretary of State for Air to what extent his Department is making use of the new network techniques, for example, critical path planning and scheduling and programme evaluation and review technique, in evaluating bids for Government contracts and monitoring subsequent performance.

Mr. H. Fraser

Most of my Department's procurement and works services requirements are met on an agency basis by other Departments—such as the Ministry of Aviation and the Ministry of Public Building and Works. The contracts which the Ministry places itself are mainly concerned with the purchase of services or goods which are in commercial supply. In this field the scope for sophisticated evaluation and control techniques is limited.
