§ Mr. Woodburnasked the Minister of Power whether he is aware that British shipbuilders have to pay higher prices for British steel than is charged to competitors on the Continent; and what action he will take, under Section 10(1) of the Iron and Steel Act, 1953, to give help to British shipbuilding.
§ Mr. WoodI am told that the British steel industry does not charge more to shipbuilders in this country than to those abroad. I have no reason to think excessive the maximum home prices which the Iron and Steel Board has determined for the steel products used in shipbuilding.
