asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty how many pupils from Scottish schools were awarded commissions in the period 1952 to 1962; and what percentage this constitutes of the total number of commissions granted.

Scottish schools provided 126 or 6.5 per cent. of the general and supplementary lists and Royal Marines commissions in the period 1952–1962.

Details of the schools of entrants to the special duties list and to the instructor, medical and dental branches are not held centrally and cannot be readily provided.
