§ Mr. Kershawasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that the alignment of the escape roads on the Whiteways Hill on the Tetbury-Dursley road is not satisfactory and is a cause of 39W danger; and what proposals he has to improve them.
§ Mr. MarplesThe Gloucestershire County Council is the responsible highway authority for this road. I understand it is satisfied that the steps taken in 1949 to improve some of the escape roads have considerably reduced the dangers on Whiteways Hill. The council has no proposals for any future improvement.
