§ 71. Mr. Dalyellasked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science what study he has made of the memorandum from the Society of Visiting Scientists Limited, sent to him by the hon. Member for West Lothian, concerning the need for a Government grant in aid, to enable it to extend its services for visiting scientists from overseas; and what reply he has made.
§ Mr. Denzil FreethIn 1961 the Government felt unable to accede to a request from the Society of Visiting Scientists for support from public funds in addition to the grant to the Society from the British Council. Should the Society wish to make fresh representations, as suggested by the memorandum which I received from the hon. Member on Friday last, 28th June, my noble Friend would of course consider them.
