§ 86. Mr. Prenticeasked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science what progress has been made in the investigations by the Medical Research Council into the possible danger to health of workers in hairdressing establishments from the use of lacquer hair sprays; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Denzil FreethTwo investigations sponsored by the Medical Research Council are currently in progress: one into the physical properties and chemical composition of the aerosols used, and the other consisting of examinations, including X-rays, of groups of workers using different types of spray. These investigations are not yet completed but the results will be published in the scientific Press in due course.
