§ 45. Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what steps he proposes to take to ensure that the London County Council's financial and other obligations under the Town Development Act, 1952, will be taken over by the Greater London Council.
§ Mr. CorfieldOrders to be made after the Bill becomes law will certainly transfer the London County Council's liabilities to the Greater London Council. Meanwhile my right hon. Friend is most anxious that none of these schemes should be retarded by any fears on the part of receiving authorities. I am sure that such fears will prove to be unfounded since we are creating a larger authority, with greater resources, one of whose main functions will be to see that provision for overspill is successfully carried on.
