Footasked the Minister of Defence whether Her Majesty's Government will now institute an independent inquiry, similar to the Esher and 95W Salisbury Committees, into the problems of national defence, including the desirability, cost and form of a British nuclear deterrent and the size and nature of the conventional forces necessary to fulfil Great Britain's world-wide commitments and to make an adequate contribution to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
