§ 100. Mr. Pentlandasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state the number of new jobs created in the North-East Region during 1962, and the number of new jobs in prospect for the region in 1963.
§ Mr. D. PriceIndustrial Development Certificates approved during 1962 in Northumberland, Durham and the North Riding were estimated to give rise to 7,000 new jobs. About 18,000 new jobs in all are in prospect in the area. I cannot say how many of these will actually accrue in 1963.
