HC Deb 04 February 1963 vol 671 c24W
Mr. Grimond

asked the Postmaster-General if the decision to make all new Post Office buildings of prefabricated units, having as dominant features of their elevations standard metal units illuminated in red across the facade, is to apply to Scotland: and what account is going to be taken of local surroundings and materials.

Miss Pike

Yes. Post Office buildings will continue to have regard to the character of the locality; only the facade and interiors of the public part of post offices will use the new standard units.
