Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what assistance Her Majesty's Government propose to provide towards making good the damage caused by floods in Zanzibar in April, 1962.

Mr. Sandys

Her Majesty's Government have agreed to contribute £2,000 to the Mayor of Zanzibar's Relief Fund. This sum will be advanced from the Civil Contingencies Fund pending the presentation of a Supplementary Estimate to Parliament.
