§ Captain Kerbyasked the Minister of Education by what authority the post of principal lecturer in mathematics at Bishop Otter Teachers Training College, Chichester, is being advertised when the present occupant has requested an extension of his appointment to the age of 65 years.
§ Mr. ChatawayThe authority was that of the Executive Committee of the College Council, following the Council's decision not to extend the appointment of the present occupant beyond the age of 60. I understand that the Principal Lecturer concerned has asked the Council to reconsider its decision, that this request will be considered at a special meeting of the Council in January and that no new appointment will be made before then.
