§ Mr. MawbyFive kiosks have been installed and two more will be erected as soon as we have access to the sites. More will be considered as the building of the town progresses.
§ 7. Mr. Benceasked the Postmaster-General how many applications for telephone installation are on the waiting list for the new town of Cumbernauld; how many private telephones have been installed; and what is the average waiting period for new installations.
§ Mr. MawbyThere are 32 applications on the waiting list and a further 103 orders under inquiry or being met. There are 757 working lines of which 226 were supplied during the last 12 months. These figures include 465 and 153 residential telephones respectively. The composition of the waiting list is constantly changing and while we cannot give a reliable average waiting period we can say that all outstanding applications will be met by or before March next.
