§ Sir R. Robinsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what further contribution Her Majesty's Government proposes to make to the International Development Association.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterYes. Resolutions are now before the Board of Governors of the International Development Association providing for the replenishment of the Association's funds after 30th June, 1965, when the initial period of contribution ends. I am today presenting a White Paper (copies of which are available in the Vote Office) setting out the details of the proposals, which provide' for the industrialised member countries to contribute $250 million a year for the ensuing period of three years. Our contribution would be $32.2 million a year for this period.
The member nations have until 31st December to vote on the Resolutions. The United Kingdom Governor proposes to cast his vote in favour.
184WIf the Resolutions are adopted, legislation will be introduced to authorise this further contribution.
