§ 62. Mr. Edelmanasked the Minister of Health what action he is taking to make use of the reserve of married midwives to supplement existing resources of midwives available to care for women discharged within 48 hours of childbirth from hospitals owing to the shortage of beds.
§ Mr. BarberLocal health authorities are well aware of the advantages of employing married midwives part-time on post-natal work, and are encouraged to do so.
