§ 60. Sir J. Edenasked the Minister of of Education what is the total number of pupils now at the Bournemouth Grammar School for boys; how many qualified boys are refused admission due to lack of space; for what number the buildings were originally designed; and whether he will now authorise their extensionas a matter of urgency.
§ Mr. ChatawayThere are 936 boys in the school, which was designed for 600 and subsequently extended. My right hon. Friend will consider carefully for the building programme 1965–68 the local education authority's proposal to bring the school up to standard. No boy selected for a grammar school education has been refused admission to the school.
