§ Mr. Millanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give details for 1961–62 and 1962–63 for local authorities in Scotland of total interest charges paid, capital debt at end of year and rate of interest paid on net capital debt.
§ Mr. NobleFor 1961–62, total interest charges were £42.9 million, gross capital debt at the end of the year was £890 million and average rate of interest on net capital debt (i.e., gross debt less sinking fund balances) was 5 per cent. Figures for 1962–63 are not yet available.
