§ Mr. Lilleyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, in view of the dissatisfaction in Glasgow regarding the allocation of houses in Balcarries Avenue, if he will rescind his decision to permit members of the Glasgow Corporation, who are themselves tenants of the Corporation, voting on matters concerning council house allocations and rents.
§ Mr. NobleNo. The corporation as a whole resolved to apply for the removal of the disability of those members affected, and bearing in mind that refusal of the application might lead to the adoption of a policy to which the majority of the council were opposed, I felt obliged to remove the disability.
