§ 45. Mr. Dalyellasked the Chief Secretary to the Treasury what action he has taken as a result of the recommendation of the Feilden Report on Engineering Design, that the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research should explore the means of providing financial support for the production of engineering textbooks.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterParagraph 144 (i) of the Report of the Feilden Committee recommended that the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research should explore the means of providing facilities and financial support for conferences of teachers of engineering in universities and technical colleges. The Committee suggested that these conferences might among other things promote the production of text books. I understand that this recommendation is to be discussed at the next Annual Conference of Professors of Engineering in April, 1964.
