§ Mr. FisherThe railway in Bechuanaland is owned by the Rhodesian Railways, a statutory organisation of the Government of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. The line is operated by the South African Railway acting on behalf of Rhodesia Railways south of Mahalapye and by Rhodesia Railways itself north of that point. South African railway police are able to carry out minor railway police functions on property and trains belonging to the railway in so far as they act on behalf of the South African Railway in respect of that part of the line which it operates.
