§ Sir B. Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many of the United Nations have acceded to or agreed to the Convention on Genocide of the United Nations Organisation; and whether Her Majesty's Government will reconsider their decision and accede to the Convention.
§ Mr. P. ThomasForty-three States originally signed the Genocide Convention of whom thirty-seven have since ratified. There have also been twenty-nine accessions to the Convention. Her Majesty's Government see no cause to reconsider their decision not to accede to the Convention, the reasons for which I explained fully in the debate which took place on 23rd July, 1962.
