HC Deb 04 December 1963 vol 685 c197W
Mr. Clive Bossom

asked the Minister of Labour why, in the Choice of Careers Series No. 92, Professional Engineers, published by Her Majesty's Government, no reference is made to traffic engineers; and whether he will make good the omission when the publication is revised.

Mr. Godber

The booklet is intended to give young people a general picture of the main branches of engineering and examples of the work of a qualified engineer. It does not attempt to describe all specialist branches. The booklet, however, lists the principal professional engineering institutions, including the Institution of Highway Engineers and other relevant bodies; and advises young people to consult their regulations. I will keep my hon. Friend's suggestion carefully in mind when the booklet is next revised.
