102. Dr. Dickson Mabon

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he will authorise the provision of a dual carriageway road from the proposed Renfrew-Paisley by-pass to the Port Glasgow boundary.

Renfrew County Council, as my agents for trunk roads in the county, are investigating schemes for the provision of dual carriageways on this section of trunk road. I hope that work will start on the first part of the Renfrew by-pass in 1965 and that it will be followed by a sequence of schemes to complete the reconstruction of the road by 1970.
