§ 85. Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Transport in view of the increasing congestion of traffic in High Road, Leytonstone, what steps have been taken in co-operation with the Borough of Leyton and contiguous local authorities to determine alternative routes for through-traffic proceeding to or from points in the County of Essex beyond Leyton and neighbouring urban areas, and thus encourage traffic diversion from High Road, Leytonstone.
§ Mr. GalbraithThe Eastern Avenue extension will provide an effective bypass for through traffic in due course. Meanwhile, we are considering what scope there is for traffic management measures.
