Assistance to proving Project Herald aircraft 1.11 Argosy aircraft 0.153 In addition contract negotiations are in progress in respect of Government contributions towards the Trident Marks 1E and 1F aircraft and towards development of other variants of the Spey engine. Further contracts are also being negotiated for the Concord aircraft and the Olympus 593 engine.
Thus, since the Government's present policy was announced in February 1960, about £35 million has been committed. Much of our expenditure on the aeronautical research programme is, of course, also of direct benefit to the civil side of the industry.
