§ 82. Sir E. Erringtonasked the Minister of Public Building and Works what was the cause of the collapse of one of the newly-erected mechanised Army build- 150W ings in Aldershot; and what steps he is taking to prevent a repetition of such an occurrence.
§ Mr. RipponThe partly-completed structure of an officers mess building at Stanhope Lines, Aldershot, collapsed at about 10.30 p.m. on 21st July. I have asked for a full report from the firm of architects commissioned to design and supervise the scheme, and from the Building Research Station. When I have considered these reports I will take the action necessary.
