Whether they have now reached a decision on the revocation of the Wild Birds (Eggs of Common Birds) Order 1955

THE MINISTER OF STATE, HOME OFFICE(EARL JELLICOE)

On the recommendation of the Advisory Committee on the Protection of Birds for England and Wales and after complying with the statutory requirements regarding consultation with local authorities and other persons affected, my right honourable friend the Home Secretary has signed an Order revoking the Wild Birds (Eggs of Common Birds) Order 1955. The revocation Order comes into operation on 27th April. Its effect will be to confer the full protection of the Protection of Birds Act 1954 on the eggs of the 13 common species of British birds which were listed in the 1955 Order.
