§ Mr. SandysThe cost borne by Her Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom is about £100,000. I have no information about expenditure incurred by the other Governments concerned. I am sure the House would wish me to take this opportunity to emphasise the immense value of the Commonwealth tours which Her Majesty and Prince Philip have carried out with such supreme success. These personal visits by The Sovereign help in a unique way to strengthen the bonds of mutual affection and fellowship between the peoples of the Commonwealth.
