HC Deb 10 April 1963 vol 675 c181W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether he will make a statement about supplies made available by Her Majesty's Government for the relief of distress among the Montagnards in Vietnam.

Mr. Heath

Her Majesty's Government contributed £1,000 in November, 1962, of which £500 was devoted to medical supplies for special dispensaries set up by the Vietnamese Government and the remainder mainly to local purchases of essential foodstuffs through charitable and religious bodies. Her Majesty's Embassy, which played an active part in selecting and distributing these supplies, has also given active assistance in the distribution of generous help from the Save the Children Fund and the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief.
