HC Deb 10 April 1963 vol 675 c177W
Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what amendment of the Bechuanaland Protectorate constitution he has under consideration.

Mr. Sandys

I consider that the time has come to review the constitution of the Bechuanaland Protectorate, and to consider some further political advance. I have discussed the matter with the Resident Commissioner and have directed him to initiate consultations in the territory.

Any political groups or interested persons in Bechuanaland, who may wish to submit proposals for the amendment of the constitution, are invited to submit them in writing to the Government Secretary in Mafeking.
