§ Mr. W. Hamiltonasked the Minister of Public Building and Works why the expenditure on furniture in the Royal Palaces is to be increased from £3,000 in 1962–63 to £5,000 in 1963–64.
§ Mr. RipponThis expenditure is for furnishings and furniture at Royal Palaces other than Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Kensington Palace. Most of the additional £2,000 is for barrier posts, matting and showcases in parts of Hampton Court Palace which are open to the public. The balance is for a variety of small repairs and replacements.
