§ Mr. Sir E. BoyleInformation and guidance were given in the Report of the Department's Chief Medical Officer on the Health of the School Child for 1960 and 1961. This Report emphasised that a psychotic child should not be excluded from the educational system without prolonged psychiatric and educational treatment unless impairment of mental function is shown to be too gross for response to therapy.
