Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Labour how often the chairman of the Torbay and District Local Employment Committee has been a trade union representative.

Mr. Hare

No trade union representatives have been appointed to the chairmanship of this committee. Of the seven chairmen appointed to the committee since its creation in 1917 four were representatives of employers and three were independent persons.
